About GUNNER
Gunner has just turned 10 years of age and is the most wonderful, affectionate and joyful little dog with so much to offer a new family. He was rehomed as a Staffie cross breed by NISBTR when he was just a tiny pup and was a very much loved pet but sadly his owner became very poorly so Gunner came back to live with us in October 2024.
Despite his senior years, Gunner is an extremely fit and healthy dog. He loves to chase his ball in an open and safe environment. He is a medium energy dog and would need around 30 minutes off lead exercise or two 20 minute walks a day to keep him happy. The rest of the time Gunner is a bit of a couch potato. In particular, he loves to loaf around on his bean bag or the sofa. The (mostly) Staffie in him means he really enjoys human company. He is non-destructive when he is home alone and can be left for reasonable amounts of time during the day.
Gunner is one of the most obedient, well-trained dogs known to us and is very keen to learn new things and to please his humans. He is an absolute delight to have around and will bring his new family lots of laughter and fun times. He is playful at times but also likes to lounge about in the background and watch people potter around. Like all dogs, Gunner thrives on being part of a family.
Gunner is house trained, crate trained and loves to travel in the car. He walks beautifully on the lead and isn't fazed at all with other dogs he meets on a walk. Gunner could therefore live with a similar energy dog if introduced correctly. He is not so keen on cats and is obsessed with squirrels!
As Gunner is a senior dog he very much appreciates peace and quiet and because he has never lived with children he will be looking for an adult only (16 years and above) household to spend his retirement years in.
Gunner is an overall fabulous dog with so much to give. Loyal, affectionate and sweet-natured, he will make the right family a perfect pet. He is great fun to be with and is very easy going. Having lived most of his life with a single gentleman, Gunner would be an ideal companion for a semi-retired/retired single person or couple.
Gunner is eligible for our Senior Stafford Scheme (SSS) which entitles them to assistance from NISBTR with any unexpected veterinary bills post adoption (excluding vaccinations and worming treatment) should he need medical care. Our SSS is there to reassure any potential family that they do not have to worry about future costs.
