About KALI
Maud is 4 years of age. She is a gorgeous Staffie/Lab mix with a very gentle soul and is now looking for her forever home. Maud came into our care from NWSPCA in Co Mayo in March 2024 after being picked up a stray. Not only is she beautiful, she is also a very pleasant and good natured dog who has come a great distance in terms of what she has learned since she arrived. She is very sweet, extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than having lots of tummy rubs and cuddles.
Maud's energy level is medium. She is currently receiving and would continue to require two short (30 minute) walks a day but also loves playtime in the garden where she has her little spurts of energy chasing a ball.
She is a medium sized dog and can be strong on the lead on occasions. Her foster family have implemented lots of useful tricks and tips involving food that make her walks enjoyable and divert her from loud traffic and other distractions (such as cats) that used to get her very excited. Her new family must be happy and willing to continue using these handy tips to ensure that she, and they, get the most out of her on-lead exercise. Maud likes walking in the rain and has a real penchant for diving into muddy puddles on a walk (it must be the Labrador in her) which she really enjoys.
Whilst we know that Maud can interact well with some other dogs and positively enjoys canine company in the right environment, we have made the decision that she would best be suited to a family where she is the only pet with the confidence that she could be introduced to other dogs that may be connected to her family in a gradual way.
Always fun to be with, Maud will provide her new family with lots of laughter and jollification. She is both funny and joyful to spend time with and is a real source of entertainment. Often goofy and always endearing, Maud is very lollopy both indoors and outdoors bringing lots of smiles to her foster family daily. Maud loves her puzzles and snuffle mat. She is a very smart cookie and picks things up very quickly. Anything at all that enriches her life, Maud is happy to try.
Maud is an all-round fabulous family pet. She has been living in harmony with two youngsters aged 11 and 14 years and particularly enjoys their company. We have placed a minimum age on any children in a future home at 10 years, although this may be slightly lower depending on the family make-up.
Maud enjoys her naps during the day. She is a very relaxed, calm and unassuming dog around the house. She likes to follow people around and be in on any action but is also equally happy curled up in her cosy bed. She is very comfortable being left on her own and would suit a family that has work commitments provided there was someone who could call in on her during the day.
Maud is happy to travel in a car (especially the school run), sleeps very well (in the kitchen) during the night and is fully house trained.
