Fostering is a very rewarding and satisfying thing for any dog lover to do. However, it requires time, patience, compassion, commitment, understanding and a whole lot of love.
As a foster based rescue (we choose not to kennel our dogs) NISBTR is totally reliant on foster carers to enable us to transform the lives of the Staffordshire Bull Terriers that come into our care. They are the ‘stepping stones’ to a happy life and play a huge part in offering a previously abandoned and unwanted Staffordshire Bull Terrier a new lease of life along with those whose families simply cannot care for their dogs any more for very genuine reasons.
If you don’t already have a one, fostering is a great way to help you decide whether a dog really is for you. It is also a great way to enjoy canine company without having to make the life long commitment that comes with owning a dog. Fostering is also an opportunity to find a pet that is ideal for you on a permanent basis as many of our foster families have gone on to adopt a dog that they were temporarily looking after.
NISBTR provides everything that is needed to look after one of our dogs whilst in foster care including food, bedding, toys etc, and of course, all veterinary bills will be covered by the charity.
Please consider our expectations before contacting us regarding becoming a foster carer.
